STUDY MUSIC WITH A GRAMMy AWARD WINNING MUSICIAN
Abstraction Level Instruction
The core of my instruction is to learn techniques to such a point as they become routine, and then forget them. After the muscle memory is in place, a strategy is necessary to maximize what can be accomplished. I teach a highly specific yet highly personalized style of accomplishing both. After you’ve gained the muscle memory then we work on getting “you” out of the way of your own playing. I approach each student separately so you can depend on the lesson being suited to whatever is needed to help you achieve your goals.
Listening
You can only play what you can hear. Developing ears to hear details in music is one of the most critical parts in learning.
The Three t's
Tuning, timing, and tone - in that order. Learn to use these skills as an unshakable foundation in your playing.
Guitar Rhythm
Rhythm is what interests me most. There are many great lead musicians out there but few make rhythm a study.
Other Instruments
I also teach beginning and intermediate banjo, mandolin, fiddle, and bass. I leave out advanced until we see what direction you take.

You can use the calendar to mix and match how you want to use the lessons
When you purchase a lesson you’ll receive a link to the calendar. Once there, look through the open times and choose one that best fits your schedule.
In the event that you cannot find a date that fits your schedule, please contact me and we will try to arrange a suitable time.
You will never be recorded without your knowledge or against your will. However, if you want a recording of our lesson then you will have the option to download a video of the lesson a short time after we have finished.
If you purchase a 60 minute lesson then you can use the calendar to either book a solid 60 minutes or two 30 minute lessons. I suggest a 60 minute lesson for our first and we can discuss what works best for you going forward.
Lessons are non-refundable. However, if you need to reschedule then that option is available up to 24 hours before your lesson time.
